Don't miss this Thursday's show with our good mates The Legs at the Ding Dong Lounge, it's gonna be a VERY spesh night. HEADING NORTH FOR APRIL
Yes, it's been a long time between updates, but we've been undergoing some technological upgrades at Black Guns HQ to ensure that we're able to bring you even more content in the very near future and satisfy your overwhelming hunger for everything Black Guns.
Apart from the techno-upgrades and a stash of rocking new tunes, April sees us head North over the border for another short jaunt to visit our new friends in Albury and Canberra. In Albury we're gonna rip it up with good mates The Devil Rock Four in what can only be described as the show of the century! Then we'll hit the road again and mix it up with fellow M-Towners, Sin City in Canberra at the Greenroom. We got a great reception in both places last time and made a whole lotta new friends who we hope to see out again this time round.
As for our loyal Melbourne brothers and sisters, fret not... we'll be back in town before you know it for an absolute screamer of a gig at Ding Dong on Thursday, 27th April with our mates The Legs. Be sure and mark it down in you diaries because it's gonna be a fucking ball-tearer.
See ya soon.

Fuck church this Sunday, come see a Black Guns rock sermon... you'll never be the same!

BLACK GUNS are heading out of town to play shows in Albury and Canberra on the 23rd and 24th of February respectively. We're looking forward to spreading the rock'n'roll abroad and having a few beers with some new faces.

If you start to get too depressed just check out the freshly updated GIGS section of the site and feast your eyes on the plethora of mega BLACK GUNS shows coming your way.

IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME BETWEEN DRINKS
It has been a very long time between drinks but we haven't disappeared off the face of the earth altogether. [Sorry for the lack of updates but we forgot to pay the telephone bill and had the net cut off!]
We've spent this past few weeks couped up in the rehearsal studio tightening up the band and putting together some killer new tracks with Scotty. Can't wait to see all of ya again - and we don't have to.
Black Guns are playing the Rob Roy Hotel this Saturday afternoon with Dura. Dura is a brand spanking band featuring ex-Black Guns drummer Danny Soldo and this is their debut show. It's gonna be an absolute party so come on sown and get an early start to Saturday night. Check the GIGS section for all the details.
We've also booked some time in the studio to record a brand new EP at the end of this month... and believe us when we tell ya it's gonna wipe the floor with everything else you've heard from Black Guns so far.
Get ready to be rocked.

SCOTTY GREEN - YOUR NEW FAVORITE DRUMMER
Ladies and gents
(drum roll please)
Black Guns are stoked to announce the newest member of the gang.
Scotty Green and his Perspex kit (that's right ladies, it's 'see through') are gonna crush your internal organs with the most solid mother fucking backbeat you've heard! He's better than Ringo.
We can't wait to hit the stage - and we won't have to!
Black Guns are playing VFEST at Vic Uni next Tuesday with local legends Cannon so come on down, enjoy the sausages and cold ones in the sun and give Mr Green a welcome he'll remember.
Don't forget your kidney strap!

BACK FROM THE STUDIO
We headed in to BackBeach recording studios on Monday to demo some more material. It was another epic 15hr session during which we belted out four solid tracks - Stick To Your Guns, Right On Time and live stalwarts Cheap Thrill and Wasteland. As always, we're stoked with the results and hope you like em too. We've uploaded some new mp3's to the music section... be sure and let us know what you reckon.
Thanks to Trent and Mark at BackBeach for making the day enjoyable as ever. And of course one last big cheers to Davey for all the effort.
Onya’ mate, have a great trip.

DAVEY'S LAST STAND
It's over.
And Davey put on a final performance fitting of his place in our biography. A f*cking great show and a bunch of beers later it’s safe to say that Davey’s Last Stand is definitely one of the most memorable shows we've played. Thanks to all the folks who made it down and cheers to all who enjoyed the show enough to let us know afterwards. We got a bunch of positive feed back, which is always cool.
Black Guns wanna publicly thank Davey for all his BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS over the last couple of months. (And trust us when we tell you there was plenty of all of the above) We would've been f*cked without ya mate. You’re a champ! Have an awesome trip, we’ll keep a six pack chilled for ya.
Although that may have been his last show it aint over for ‘Dimples’ just yet.
We'll be rehearsing this week and dragging the man down to BackBeach recording studio to demo a few tracks before he departs. We’ll get some audio samples of the results up on the site for y’all ASAP.
Davey might be leaving but dry those tears rockers - Black Guns is only just
getting started. We'll be announcing the newest member of the family very
shortly... we've been rehearsing with him and let us tell ya, you aint heard nothing
yet!
This is just the beginning.
Stay tuned.

Melbourne's newest live venue, The PlayRoom has CLOSED its doors to the Rock Revival every Friday night. Black Guns will NOT be supporting one of our favourite Melbourne bands, MAEDER, next Friday 16th of September. So DON'T come on down, DON'T enjoy the show and ESPECIALLY DON'T help make The PlayRoom‘the’ place to be.
Instead come on down to the Greenroom next Saturday night - Grand Final night - for a night of FREE Melbourne rock'n'roll. This gig is gonna be particularly special since it's Davey's last one with Black Guns... he departs for the U.S. the following week... so come down and help make it a memorable one.

29th August, 2005
GOODBYE DUKE OF WINDSOR
Unfortunately the time has come for us to say goodbye to yet another f*cking incredible Melbourne live music venue. We've had many a drunken night and a few decent gigs at the Duke and as our local it's gonna be sorely missed. No choice now but to leg it to The Greyhound or The Espy in St.Kilda.
Black Guns wanna say a big thanks to the folks at Majorbox and The Duke's legendary bar staff for running one hell of a cool place to hang out. You guys rock. Special thanks to Andy for letting us play, being a f*cking gentleman and promoting cool Melbourne bands.
The Duke may be finished but there's plenty more venues and bands that you can get out there and support so get off your ass, grab your mates, head out to the pub and count your lucky stars you live in the rock capital of the world. M-Town - beer and rock’n’roll. Alright!

RANDALL'S BIRTHDAY BASH
(& PAUL'S GOING AWAY BASH II)
Hey, you're all invited down to The Public Bar in North Melbourne next Saturday, 27th of August to celebrate Grandpa Randy's birthday. That's right, the senior citizen of BLACK GUNS is gonna take his vitamin pills, polish his walking frame and don his best threads for an all out, alcohol drenched celebration.
And, if that's not enough reason for ya to come on down, our good mate Paul A is off to Japan to live - and what better way to go out than with a rip snorting night of Aussie rock'n'roll and beer.
Joining us onstage will be fellow protectors of the hallowed rock flame BLACK FRIDAY. This truly will be a momentous night of rock’n’debauchery!
Come down and join the party.
PS - We promise we've got the running times right for this one. Sorry to everybody who left before we hit the stage at Pony.

BLACK GUNS BACK AT PONY
That's right folks. BLACK GUNS are heading back to Pony to headline the Thursday night late shift - it's gonna be epic. Last time we treaded the boards at Pony DD was struck down with a very nasty case of gastro and still has nightmares about his gymnastic 'hovering bowl hose' and the extra-rough toilet paper in the mens lav. That said, we've gotta take some of our dignity back, we’re gonna tackle Pony twice as hard this time. Be there.
Thanks to all for coming down to The Duke on the 21st for a MASSIVE night. Of course a special thanks goes out to Muscles who put in the hard yards to learn our tunes in only a few rehearsals and bust out a great performance, cementing his place in BLACK GUNS history. That was our last gig at The Duke and we're all pretty bummed to have to say goodbye. Onwards and upwards.
See ya at Pony.

We're stoked to announce that one of our tracks (Cheap Thrill) recorded by Salt Studios for 3PBS's 'Live and Archived' sessions at The Duke back in May has been selected to go on a limited edition compilation CD being released by 3PBS radio. Due out real soon 'Rock the Hard Way' is chock full of Melbourne up and comers and it's fucken rad to have been included on a CD that includes established acts like The Specimens, 67 Special, The Spazzy's, Cockfight Shootout, British India, Speed Demon, Dreadnaught, Troubled Minds, Blueline Medic and more. We'll let you know more details about availability and the release schedule real soon.

DIG IN LAUNCH PARTY WRAP
Thank to everybody who came along to the launch party at The Public Bar for DIG IN. Yet another rad night rocken out with our closest friends. We've managed to flog off quite a few copies of the EP and all the reviews have been excellent. It's really gratifying to finally have something half decent to give back to the folks who show us their support in the many ways you guys do. DIG IN has also been added to several community radio play lists which is a real buzz. There'll be plenty more exciting news as the gospel of BLACK GUNS circulates over the coming months.

19th June, 2005
Thanks to all the folks who made it down and rocked out with us at Greenroom on Friday night. Congrats to Black Friday who put on a fantastic headlining performance and topped off the evening nicely. Much beer was drunk, much shit was spun and good times were had by all.
On to the next show.
Everybody make sure to get your arses down to The Duke this Saturday, 25th June. This show is gonna be the shite. We're really looking forward to rocking out with our buds Teargas and Sweet Revenge. From what we've heard Supercede are gonna go off too. Doors open at 8.00pm but if you can’t be there to start lubing up by then at least make sure you’re there to catch BLACK GUNS onstage at 9.30pm sharp. Don't be late!

12th June, 2005
G’day rockers.
We've wrapped up the recording, mixing and mastering sessions for DIG IN, the debut BLACK GUNS EP. Everything went smoothly and we can't wait for y'all to hear the results. The tunes came up sweet and the artwork is an absolute, f*cking ripper. As promised, it's a slice of rock'n'roll dynamite to blow your mind - would you expect anything less?
Once again a giant thanks goes out to Trent 'Buff' Dobson for his sweat and tears steering us through down at Back Beach Studios in Rye. Cheers Trent, we owe ya some cold ones.
The final track listing is...
1) Dig In
2) Road To Ruin
3) Marseilles (by The Angels)
Duplication will take place over the next couple of weeks and we're aiming to have copies ready for the show at The Duke on the 25th - all the more reason to get your ass down there.
We're also stoked to get back on the live scene next Friday, 17th June with an epic gig at The Greenroom. Headliners, Black Friday, have organised an absolute corker of a line-up so make sure you bring your drinking boots coz it's gonna be a very messy start to the weekend.
Check the GIGS section for more details about the Greenroom show and our upcoming Saturday spot at The Duke.
See you on Friday.

MAY 2005
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
23rd May, 2005
We had two fucking great shows last week. The first was at Pony on Thursday with The New Electric and The Threads - which despite being so late on a school night turned out really cool - and then we finished off our live commitments (for the time being) on Saturday night in Sale... and boy did we go out with a bang! There was more beer and shenanigans at that show than all the others combined thus far - at least Muscles would like to believe that! It was great to play to some new faces and even better to see that rock'n'roll is alive and well out in the country. We can’t wait for our next chance to head back out into regional Victoria. Extra cheers go to the faithful BLACK GUNS road team of Leigh, Lacey and Muscles who put their livers on the line all in the name of rock’n’roll.
That's it for the next couple of weeks on the live scene but let us tell ya, there's no rest for the wicked! We’re spending the live break holed up putting together BLACK GUNS debut EP… and you can be assured it's gonna be an absolute cracker. The CD will contain three tracks of pure rock'n'roll dynamite that have been honed during our live performances this year and we hope to have it available for you to buy at our shows from late June onwards. Stay tuned for an update from the studio coming soon.
Till then…

20 January, 2005
Hi all
It's been an awesome couple of weeks to start 2005.
The set is coming together quickly for our first show and our demo recording at Back Beach Studios in Rye was a total success.
We managed to bash out 5 basic tracks over the course of a LONG 16hr day. Everything was recorded totally live, warts and all - the way rock’n’roll should be, which has created a great vibe on tape.
We’d like to say a big thanks to the man, Trent Dobson, for twiddling the knobs for us. Trent’s an absolute champ and it was an honour to pop his cherry as his first Melbourne band. Thanks also to Mark Rachelle for the guiding hand and the always invaluable advice. Cheers guys, we hope we can get back in the studio for something a little more serious real soon.
If you haven’t already noticed, there has been a total overhaul of the site and some new additions. Firstly, full MP3’s of our demo tracks are available for you to download in the music section of the site so you can all have a listen and tell us what you think. By all means burn em’ off and show your mates if you reckon they’re worthy. If you’ve got a slow connection or just plain can’t be buggered downloading them you can also stream them at BLACK GUNS MySpace.com website. We’ve added a few pics from the studio in the photos section, and of course our guestbook is up and running so you can tell us how rad we are. Please do. Cheers to all those who’ve left kind words so far.
There’s gonna be dates locked in for some shows real soon so keep checking in.

Things are motoring along smoothly for us right now. Apart from finally being online, we're flat out writing new tracks and getting our shit together to bring it to the people. We expect to book our debut show very soon so make sure you keep your ear to the ground.
This year is set to be a big one for BLACK GUNS. We’re intent on spending it working our fingers to the bone spreading the word locally, regionally and interstate.
We’re also excited about hitting the studio in January to record our first demo. We’ll stick some audio clips up here for you to download as soon as we can work out how to do it. We’ve got loads of renovations planned for this site as things get cooking so keep stopping by. Let us know if there’s anything in particular you want to see on the site and we’ll see what we can do. Sorry ladies, no naked photos of Justice... yet!
We’ll see you at a BLACK GUNS show real soon.
Until then… keep on gunnin’!
